Dehydrating tomatoes

Tomatoes are ripe right now and if you have some extra in your garden Here is a great idea to preserve them for winter months when nice ripe tomatoes are hard to find.

Start out by slicing tomatoes thin on a cutting board.
Sprinkle with your favorite non-salt spices, fresh out of the garden is best, but we used paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and mrs dash seasoning.

Place one layer thick on a dehydrator tray and dehydrate at 102 degrees until nice and dry.
check in a few hours when pliable
flip for a couple more hours, remove from sheets and store in air
tight containers. I use 2 ziploc freezer bags one inside the other and
store in the freezer until needed. If you have food storage system
bags this would be a great way to store them as well.
On ocassion they can also be added to evoExtra virgin Olive oil or udos in a glass jar, I usually only
do this prior to using them in oil for a specific recipe .

ENJOY Healthy Dehydrated tomatoes right from your garden!
