Sore throat juicing

Lemon, Garlic, Horseradish and Honey Drink

There are lots of vitamin C in lemon juice horseradish is effective in reducing mucus congestion.  Both garlic and honey are antibacterial foods.  Thus a drink with a mixture of these ingredients can be effective in helping to reduce bacteria in the throat and to boost the body's immune system.

1 lemon
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp prepared horseradish
2-3 tsps honey
1 cup hot water

First process the garlic through a juicer, followed by the lemon.  Next whish in the horseradish, honey and hot water.  When finish drink immediately while it is still hot.

Orange and Sage Juice

The vitamin C in oranges is effective in helping to prevent strep throat.  Sage which is an anti-bacterial herb is added to help soothe a painful sore throat.  Orange zest contains bioflavenoids while  wheat germ oil contains essential fatty acids and vitamin E.

2 oranges
1 tsp finely chopped fresh sage
1/2 tsp wheat germ oil
1 tsp grated orange zest
honey to taste

Peel the oranges and process them through a juicer.  Next whisk in sage, wheat germ oil, honey and orange zest.
